Psychiatrist Bernard Gerber, M.D. will explore a variety of issues related to medication use in treatment of psychiatric disorders.
About the Presentation:
There are a number of issues related to the use of medications in the treatment of psychiatric disorders that present opportunity for discussion, especially in the context of multi-modal treatment. Ethos Behavioral Health Group Psychiatrist Dr. Bernard Gerber, M.D. will explore the multiple factors involved in the decision-making process, the management of patient expectations and treatment compliance, the rationale for medication treatment in certain psychiatric disorders and the importance of optimizing physician-therapist communication in order to facilitate patient engagement. This complimentary talk will offer clinicians the option of earning 1 Continuing Education credit upon successful completion of a course evaluation at the conclusion of the presentation.
About the Presenter:
Psychiatrist Dr. Bernard M. Gerber, M.D. earned his medical degree from the Southwestern Medical School at Dallas and completed a psychiatry residency at the Harvard Medical School Department of Psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. Since 1982, he has maintained a private psychiatry practice, currently focusing on outpatient treatment of a variety of psychiatric and mental health issues for adolescents and adults, while also maintaining an assistant professorship at the Baylor College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Gerber is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He currently serves on the clinical team at Ethos Behavioral Health Group.
