12:00-1:00 PM CST via Zoom

Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Ava Profota will discuss attachment styles based on family of origin dynamics in this virtual presentation.

About the Presentation:

According to the work of Pia Melody, when a family is enmeshing, an avoidant style of intimacy emerges, and when a family is abandoning, an anxious style of intimacy emerges. During this complimentary virtual talk, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Ava Profota will discuss attachment styles based on family of origin dynamics in early childhood and adolescence, exploring the dichotomy above as well as how love addiction and avoidance develop, and sharing helpful strategies and interventions to use in clinical practice. At the conclusion of the presentation, clinicians will have the option of earning 1 Continuing Education credit upon successful completion of a course evaluation.
